YouTube video: Watch kids solve a word problem -- "How old is the shepherd?"

This is a replication of the famous "what is the name of the captain?" word problem -- a problem with misleading or insufficient information, and which many kids attempt to solve nonetheless.

    I think that this illustrates a few of points.
    1) Students are almost always given problems for which there are solutions to based on sufficient criteria.
    2) Many students immediately jump to the numbers and guess at an operation.
    and 3) The shepherd is clearly 625 years old because 125 x 5 = 625
